As October approaches, I find myself recharging in a sunlit corner of my room. The golden rays filter through my window, and I savor their touch, both gentle and invigorating. As they fill the room, I'm reminded of the beauty of a fresh start, much like the one I find myself in front of - a blank page awaiting the dance of words.
Recent conversations with friends have had me contemplating the landscape of my next writing endeavor. Relationships? Careers? While such topics hold their own allure, I find myself drawn back to the four basic meditations. I feel that there is a veil covering their true purpose and impact on your life. The hidden core that must be uncovered.
In today's journey, we will take a look at the larger intangibles: faith, belief, hope, through the prism of love and fear. Instead of relying on overused metaphors, I'm compelled to strip them down to their essence, much like painting with the purest of pigments.
Hope
So frequently uttered, "hope" often loses its profound resonance. When we find ourselves in troubling situations, it's hope that we cling to. It's seen as an escape, a longing for change. Hope is an expectation or even a desire for a change in the situation we find ourselves in. Desires come from the emptiness of our ego and are themselves empty in their core. Hope, then, arises from our ego's rejection of factuality. Looking through the lens of love and fear, it's clear that hope is intertwined with fear at its core. Let's explore this with a simple scene.
Imagine a loved one struggling with illness. When we hear about it, our instinctive reaction is to say, "I hope you get well soon. But isn't that distancing us from the situation? This dissociation is a projection of fear in the presence of a latent will. A strong will projects love, and when we have such a will, we would rather ask what we can do to help them if we're not already doing it. Memories flood back of times when I was sick as a child and my mother or sister nursed me back to health, never once uttering the word 'hope'. Would you still hope for an outcome after actively contributing to it?
Consider a stalled smartphone. When we restart it, we often claim, "This should fix it. It's less a plea than a statement, albeit one shrouded in uncertainty. Why is that?
Faith
Faith, unlike hope, actively engages us in unfolding events. Where hope may be tied to fear, faith exudes love. It's an unwavering assurance that even in the darkest hour, dawn is inevitable. This spiritual certainty is more in tune with our nature and therefore more powerful than mere hope. With faith, you don't just observe - you participate in shaping reality. That is why we say, "Have faith!" when we want to encourage someone to keep doing what they are doing. And when faith solidifies into certainty? The gods help those who help themselves!
Belief
Belief is unshakable knowledge that resonates deep in our very bones. It's the fulcrum upon which the will balances, a central force in wishful thinking. Through our will we navigate between two primal forces - love and fear. Remember that energy is a tapestry woven with information. The more threads of energy that are colored by our beliefs, the more vibrant, the more alive our reality becomes. And those threads? They're dyed with our emotions, feelings, thoughts, and actions, as expanded upon in our meditation on energy.
Navigating Your Odyssey
As you traverse the intricate chapters of life, the insights revealed in these writings are meant to serve as your compass. They're designed to illuminate the twin primal forces of love and fear, along with the powerful force of will. By understanding them, you'll gain a unique lens through which to discern the myriad projections of love, fear, and will that play out around and within you.
Life has an uncanny way of offering lessons when you least expect them. It's in these serendipitous moments, akin to Jung's synchronicity, that the universality of these teachings becomes apparent. As you continue your journey, the abstract knowledge will begin to take shape. It will crystallize into familiar landmarks, detailed and personalized, offering proof of the truths shared here. Gradually, this accumulated understanding will solidify into your very own belief totem.
Rooted in such a profound foundation, you'll stand unshaken in the midst of life's tempestuous whirlpools of love and fear. Rather than being caught in their tumultuous embrace, the strength of your will will guide you. It will lead you in the dance, drawing you ever closer to the limitless horizon of your potential.
One of life's most daunting challenges is facing the unknown, which often comes in the form of fear. But while the knowledge here may seem abstract, it's designed to pierce through that veneer and reveal the essence beneath. When you truly see, the "unknown" becomes the known, and the once-feared becomes the accepted. And remember, in acceptance lies the pure, unadulterated projection of love.
Then with a smile you will remember our motto: "One truth, many words."
Thank you for being here!
